EUROPEAN ABORIGINES
if we was had been aboriginals, thems would have written books about us. instead thems still played the tricks like theys always did. and we is tricked up that wes don’t even know it no more, thinking that this one, at last, is no tricker but turns out that him is. and, truth to tell, the tricks is stacked so high, layer on layer, like a card house, that we at the bottom don’t know no more where the top is excepting sometimes you can see aces up there. and each stacked shoulder above shoulder, foot on neck, hand on face and such. a big card house stretching way up, shimmer in wind like the sun on trout water.
